DORTMUND, Germany ● Borussia Dortmund says it won’t tolerate any racist incidents at its stadium after a fan held up a banner supporting a recently banned neo-Nazi group at the two-time defending Bundesliga champion’s opening match of the new season.
Managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke says the club will work closely with police and “use all means available” to prevent a reoccurrence of such acts, vowing to pursue a “zero tolerance” policy.
Police say the 27-year-old fan who brought the banner to Friday’s match is known as a neo-Nazi. Prosecutors are investigating whether to bring charges.
