Timothy Derijck of PSV and Uche Nwofor of Venlo battle for the ball
EINDHOVEN, Netherlands • All four Dutch Eredivisie title contenders in action came away with three points to keep up the pressure on leaders AZ Alkmaar.
AZ, who are in action at Vitesse Arnhem tomorrow, saw their lead cut to one point as FC Twente beat Roda JC through second-half goals from Douglas and substitute Wesley Verhoek.
PSV Eindhoven are just a point further back after beating VVV-Venlo 2-0.
Tim Matavz opened the scoring on 10 minutes and Memphis Depay secured the points in the last minute after Ola Toivonen failed to convert a 68th-minute penalty.
Feyenoord are also on 54 points alongside PSV after beating NAC Breda 3-1.
Otman Bakkal opened the scoring in the third minute and, although Mer Bayram levelled, goals from Ruben Schaken and Sekou Cisse sealed the win.
Heerenveen are yet another team on 54 points after Bas Dost scored twice in a 3-1 win at FC Groningen.
Dost opened the scoring in the 24th minute and then restored his side’s advantage just before half-time after Dusan Tadic had drawn the home side level. Viktor Elm added a late third for the visitors.
