BANGKOK, Thailand   ●  Thai club BEC Tero Sasana has confirmed Sven Goran Eriksson will be unveiled as technical director on Monday.

The ex-England manager is due to hold an official news conference later Monday at the Thephassadin Stadium.

Eriksson will become the 16th head of coaches in 20 years for BEC Tero Sasana, which was established by FIFA executive committee member Worawi Makudi in 1992 and is one of the leading clubs in Thailand.

The 64-year-old Swede, who left second-tier English club Leicester last October after failing to secure promotion to the Premier League, replaces Robert Pro Kruger of Belgium. BEC Tero was fourth in the domestic competition last season.

Eriksson’s first match with BEC Tero will be against Chainat FC on Saturday.

He managed Lazio and Benfica before guiding England from 2001-06. Since then, he has also managed English club Manchester City as well as Mexico’s national team.
