Valcke hospitalized in Brazil because of infection
SAO PAULO, Brazil ● FIFA says secretary general Jerome Valcke has been hospitalized in Brazil because of an infection.
FIFA deputy secretary general Markus Kattner says Valcke was hospitalized in Rio de Janeiro “on doctor’s advice” and will stay “two or three days” under observation.
He says Valcke “is OK and there is no reason for concerns.”
It was not clear what type of infection prompted the hospitalization.
